How to Add Self Recovery Details for a Self Password Reset

Overview

Password resets are a common IT issue, but they need not be a headache for you after a nice weekend or leave.
Rather than seeking assistance from IT, you may perform a self password reset
However, if you are receiving this error when attempting a password reset:

This will mean no self recovery information has been given.

This article details the steps needed to add in some self recovery details to enable you to perform a self password recovery.

Pre-Reqs

  1. An intended recovery email address which does not end in '@cnh.com.au'
  2. Logged in to a Columbia based device under your own login
Once you are locked out of your account it's too late. The recovery email needed to be added in advance. If you are locked out,  you will need to contact the IT Department.

Steps

Upon logging into the Chrome device, open up your dashboard by clicking the Chrome in the bottom center part of your screen:

Once this is open, you will see in the top right of the Dashboard, the full Columbia Logo together with the small Columbia icon.

Click on the small circular Columbia Icon:

That should bring up an option then to "manage your google account":

Once you click on this you will be presented with options on managing your account
Please do not change any other settings other than those shown here, as you may cause damage to your account

You will then click on Security as shown above and then scroll down to the "How you sign into Google" section to find "Recovery email" option:

Click on the RIGHT facing arrow to proceed and enter your recovery email you will use.

Once you confirm this, you will get a final confirmation that the process has been completed, and you now have a recovery email which will allow you to perform a self password reset as per the article above.

Happy password resetting!
